Tamiya TT02 has been discontinued from our range

Tamiya TT02 was one of the most popular build-it-yourself cars in 1/10 scale. It combined toughness, durability, and excellent driving characteristics, all while being easy to assemble. The TT02 quickly became a favorite among both beginners and experienced RC enthusiasts.

Even though this model is now discontinued, we fondly remember the TT02 as the perfect platform for fun driving and loads of upgrade possibilities.

Product Description of Tamiya TT02

Tamiya cars have always been known for the best mix of stunning bodies, solid mechanics, and easy-to-access construction.

With the TT02, they also offer one of the best-performing chassis. The TT02 distinguishes itself by being robust, durable, and blessed with superb driving characteristics. Combined with its user-friendly construction, the TT02 reigns supreme when it comes to build-it-yourself cars.

NOTE THIS IS A KIT!

Independent suspension and four-wheel drive come standard in the TT02, and the included RS 540 motor provides enough power for awesome drifts. If that still isn't enough for you, the TT02 platform offers a multitude of upgrade options, like ball bearings and tuned motors such as the RS 540 Sports Tuned.

Just like other touring cars, the TT02 has a sort of universal size, making it easy to modify the car and, for example, swap the body for something entirely different if that's your wish.

IMPORTANT INFO! Tamiya cars are supplied without electronics, so you'll need at least a radio set, a speed controller, and motor.

Important regarding Tamiya!

With kits, it's crucial to get off to a good start. That's why Jesper has shared his many years of experience with Tamiya in this video.

Tools:
You’ll spend quite a few hours with your Tamiya car, and the experience is just better with the right tools. Of course, Tamiya has made a complete screwdriver set.

Note: The screws in Tamiya cars aren't regular Phillips screws; they conform to J.I.S. (Japanese Industrial Standards).
A regular Phillips screwdriver works okay, but everything fits just a bit better with the right tools. (Says the tool freak)

The Body:
Your Tamiya body usually comes unpainted! So, you'll need to paint it yourself. Find some paint for lexan bodies and don't forget lexan scissors, body reamer and masking tape for the best result. Check out some of the other cool bodies here. TT02 is standard 190mm, but you can use 200mm bodies with different wheels.

Ball Bearings:
Upgrading your Tamiya with ball bearings is a great idea, offering less resistance, better durability, and a higher top speed, perfect!

TT-02 uses:
8 pcs 11x4x5 (1150)
4 pcs 8x12x3.5 (1280)
4 pcs 5x10x4 (1050)

Nice-to-have gear:

You do get grease for the gearboxes, but it's a shame to run out: Super Lube grease
Thread lock is also a good idea where screws need to go into metal.
If you're planning to run the car, it's a good idea to glue the tires onto the rims; don't forget a tire glue.
